Neo3 is a combination of broad spectrum antibiotics shown to be effective in sensitivity tests against the most commonly encountered bacterial pathogen of seahorses, Vibrio sp. Twelve species of Vibrio have been identified as pathogenic in seahorses to date, of which the most commonly encountered is V.alginolyticus.
Vibrio is a non-motile, gram negative bacterium. The combined action of the antibiotics in Neo3 work bactericidally, interfering with the biochemical characteristics of the bacterial cell membrane and also inhibiting protein synthesis.
Neo3 is also effective against other gram negative bacteria and can be used to treat general symptoms of bacterial infection in seahorses.
Neo3 is a full strength antibiotic designed for use with seahorses, in normal tank salinities. Although it is an equivalent to Aquatronics Neosulfex, it has approximately 10 times the active ingredients! Do not treat other ornamental fish with Neo3. Use exactly as directed, do not double or triple dose as you would have done with the Aquatronics medications. The packaged medicine is exactly the required number of capsules for 1 complete course of treatment in a 10 US gallon hospital tank.
